Academy of the Arts, a 6-12 grade arts school opening in the western suburbs, is hosting a five-day summer intensive - IMPACT: Musical Theatre. This program takes place on June 13-17 from 9am-4pm and gives young musical theater artists an opportunity to work with artists directly connected to the musical theater industry. Mock auditions and casting sessions as well as dance calls, vocal coaching, and monologue work are packed into this week of masterclasses.
The program includes:
- 6 Broadway masterclasses in dance, acting, and voice
- Mock audition sessions with a Broadway casting director
- Daily lunch including 2 "Lunch with the Stars" sessions to eat with Broadway performers
- An industry session with top agents, managers, and casting directors
- A trip to see SIX in Chicago
- A performance for family and friends in the showcase reception
