Food & Water Donations for ISU/BOA

Food & Water Donations for ISU & BOA  -  First of all, thank you so much for all your donations thus far. We always have quite the spread for our students...it gets noticed by other bands, and complemented by our students. Our last two competitions are back to back. We are excited to provide a special dinner at ISU - Sweet & Sour Chicken. There will be both breaded and non-breaded chicken, rice, veggies and sauce. All items will be separate, so the students can put together an all-veggie, or gluten-free meal.

For BOA, we will be feeding both our band and our host band pizza for dinner on Friday. We will also be providing breakfast-on-the-go for Saturday morning. We are in need of water in particular, but also the regular snacks.

If you are interested in donating, please feel free to fill out our Google Spreadsheet: https://goo.gl/iGxbG5  Water is going to be a big need for BOA. Donations are picked up at drop off the morning of the competition. If you have any questions or concerns, pleas contact Jen Heidenreich at jv.heidenreich@gmail.com.

The music faculty and private teachers of the Batavia Music program are incredibly proud of the 18 students that were accepted to perform in the 2018 ILMEA Dist. IX Festival in band, choir, orchestra, and jazz band. On Tuesday, October 2nd, numerous musicians from Batavia High School joined nearly 2,500 students from the Dist. IX region to audition to perform in this festival. The audition process is very rigorous - simply completing the audition is challenging. Being selected for the ensemble is a great honor for those students and for their families.

Congratulations to the following students:

Haley Aharoni - Oboe (Orchestra)
Bella Clarey - Soprano I (Chorus)
Vivien Cohen - Alto II (Chorus)
Faith Cramer - Trombone (Band & Jazz Band)
Alexa Garcia - Alto II (Chorus)
Elinor Hiller - Alto I (Chorus)
Kelsie Hoffmann - Flute (Band)
Susan Keppel - Cello (Orchestra)
Daniella Kerr - Flute (Orchestra)

Zoe McKeehan - Bass Clarinet (Band)
Dylan Rhodes - Clarinet (Band)
Molly Schuster - Horn (Orchestra)

Chromium Winds - Auditions Coming!

10/7/2018

Sad to see marching band season wrap up?  The marching season doesn’t have to end! Chromium Winds (CW) is looking for awesome, motivated performers to create their 2019 ensemble.

CW is a competitive, co-ed indoor marching ensemble (ages 15-22) that rehearses most weekends from November to April.  CW is the two-time Winter  Guard International Independent Open class champions, and will be looking for its' third consecutive championship in 2019!

Chromium Winds 2019 is currently accepting auditions for saxophone (alto, tenor, or bari), trumpet, mellophone, baritone, and tuba.  At this time, we ask that interested flute or clarinet musicians consider auditioning for a saxophone position.

Audition prep clinics and audition experiences for prospective members are rapidly approaching, so sign up early here: https://www.eventbrite.com/o/chromium-winds-17263222540

Within reason, we do excuse students for school-sponsored music events. Any questions about joining our family?  Email chromiumwinds@cavaliers.org.
