Batavia Band Festival - Items and Volunteering Needed!

1/31/2018

Please join the Batavia Music Buffs by supporting the Inaugural Batavia Band Festival on February 10, 2018.  With an estimated 800 students coming to BHS on February 10th to participate, this event will take a great deal of help to make a success.  There are many ways to support the Festival both before and the day of the event.  These ways include:

•  Donate
  • 12 ounce cans of soda (any flavor)
  • 12 ounce bottles of Gatorade
  • One ounce bags of chips to be sold at the event, or
  • Candy (Snicker bars, Twix, Skittles…etc)

These items can be dropped off if you live on the East Side of Batavia at the Voirin house located at 711 Wind Energy Pass, or at the Sebold House on the West Side of Batavia at 38W401 Jonathan Lane, or in the BHS Band room. We kindly ask that all donations be dropped off by February 7.

• Bake
Please provide items for the bake sale on the day of the event.  All items will be sold for one dollar so please package appropriately.  If you are not sure what to make, everyone loves cookies, brownies, Rice Krispy treats, chocolate covered pretzels, muddy buddies, puppy chow or any other tasty treat! ** Muffins for the morning patrons are also welcome.** Please drop these off at 8am on Saturday, Feb. 10 at the High School. Call Carrie if other arrangements need to be made.

• Volunteer
We have many different shifts and jobs to perform throughout the day and we need your help to fill these numerous positions.  Please check out our sign-up genius to find the perfect job for you and get signed up!

This a fundraiser that will support all of Batavia Music students from grades K-12 grades.  This year alone, over $70,000 has been budgeted for instruments, competitions, clinics, clinicians and much more.  Please help support the music students of Batavia by supporting the Inaugural Batavia Band Festival.

Thank you in advance for all that you do to continue to make Batavia a great music community!

FROM THE MUSIC BUFFS GALA COMMITTEE TO PARENTS OF MUSIC STUDENTS:

FROM THE MUSIC BUFFS GALA COMMITTEE TO PARENTS OF MUSIC STUDENTS:
January 31, 2017

Dear Parents:

As many of you know the Ninth Annual Batavia Music Buffs Fundraising Gala, A Roarin’ Good Time, is just around the corner on Friday, March 9 at the Q Center in St. Charles. We are excited to bring you this event and hope it is the most successful one yet. The evening will be comprised of live entertainment by several of the high school extra-curricular music programs, appetizers, a sit-down dinner, raffles and a silent auction.

Our fundraising committee has been hard at work, soliciting raffle prizes and silent auction items from generous donations by our local Batavia businesses.

We would also like to offer a few big ticket items for our auction, such as a weekend getaway, an overnight stay at a nearby resort or a golf package, to name a few.

However, getting big-ticket items fully donated is very challenging and with your help, we would like to partially purchase some of these items.

If you could contribute $5- $20 toward purchasing these items, we will have the most successful fundraising event yet. Please send the donation with your student to your appropriate music teacher by Friday, February 9.

Checks may be payable to Batavia Music Buffs. Please also indicate to which music class your student belongs.  Remind your student to give the donation to the appropriate music teacher, and that every teacher has a collection envelope for donations.

We will provide more information about the items once we determine the level of support we receive. The more parents who contribute, the more items we will be able to feature.

Of course, the BEST way to support the Gala, and music programming in Batavia, is to attend the Gala. Tickets are now available to purchase at

Thank you for supporting music programming in Batavia Public Schools!

Warm regards,

The Gala Committee
